Make A Wish Foundation

Make-A-Wish is a global nonprofit that grants life changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. From meeting a hero to going on a dream adventure, wishes give kids hope, courage, and lasting memories. Since 1980, volunteers, donors, and supporters have helped make these experiences possible for children and their families.

Since 2002 Chi Omega has had a national partnership with the Make a Wish Foundation.

Nationally we have raised more than 37 million dollars and volunteered over 1.5 million hours for Make-A-Wish

Pi Mu has volunteered over 8,000 hours and donated over 115,000 dollars toward the Make a Wish Foundation

Our Events

Walks 4 Wishes

Walks for Wishes is a nationwide Make-A-Wish fundraiser that brings together wish families, volunteers, companies, donors, and friends for a fun, family friendly event. Held on campus, this walk celebrates hope and community while raising critical funds to grant wishes. Chi Omega proudly volunteers each year, with members assisting in a variety of roles such as directing traffic, hyping up walkers, face painting, and even participating in the walk themselves.

Wish Week

Wish Week is a semesterly tradition for Chi Omega, dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Make-A-Wish. Throughout the week, our chapter hosts a variety of interactive events across campus and proceeds nights that encourage students to get involved and give back. Each day something new is going on leading up to a larger main event at the end of the week. Wish Week brings our campus community together in a meaningful way while supporting the life changing work of Make-A-Wish.

Swishes 4 Wishes

Swishes for Wishes is our main event during our Semi Annual Wish Week, bringing together fraternities and sororities from across campus for a basketball tournament benefiting Make-A-Wish, Wish kids and their families are invited to attend and enjoy a fun, high energy atmosphere with Kona Ice, food, and more. Through ticket sales and participation, Swishes for Wishes raises funds to help grant wishes and supports the Make-A-Wish mission in our community.

Events

Chi Omega members also volunteer at Make-A-Wish events such as the Donor Gala and the Wish Carnival. At these events, our members assist with a variety of roles from event setup and activities to guest support and engagement. Volunteering at these celebrations allows us to connect with wish kids, families, and donors while helping create meaningful, joy filled experiences that bring the Make-A-Wish mission to life.
