RECRUITMENT
A Letter From Our Recruitment Chair
Hello!
My name is Abigail Olson, and I am so honored to serve as the 2026 Recruitment Chair for the Pi Mu Chapter of Chi Omega. It still feels surreal to write that title, because not too long ago, I was the girl who never imagined herself joining a sorority let alone leading recruitment for one.

When I moved across the country from Colorado, I was scared. I didn’t know anyone, didn’t have a support system, and found it incredibly hard to be extroverted or put myself out there. The idea of joining a sorority felt intimidating and completely out of character for me. But deep down, I knew I needed connection, community, and people who would help me grow. So I took a risk and walked into recruitment, unsure, nervous, and hoping to find a place where I belonged.

From the moment I found Chi Omega, something felt different. I was met with genuine kindness, patience, and women who made space for me exactly as I was. I didn’t have to change who I was to fit in I was embraced for it. Over the past three years, this sisterhood has changed me in ways I never expected. I have grown socially, professionally, and personally, gaining confidence and finding my voice in a space that constantly encourages growth and authenticity.

Being part of such a diverse sisterhood has allowed me to see the world through so many different perspectives, while also realizing just how much we all share. These women are my soul people, the ones who celebrate my wins, support me through challenges, and push me to be the best version of myself. I have never experienced friendships this deep, meaningful, or unconditional. Chi Omega became more than an organization to me; it became my home.

The fact that I went from a scared girl who barely talked to anyone to now serving as Recruitment Chair is something I will always be proud of. It is a testament to what happens when you are surrounded by women who believe in you, even when you don’t fully believe in yourself yet.

If I could give advice to my freshman self or to anyone going through recruitment, it would be this: put yourself out there, even when it feels uncomfortable. Find the people who will love you as you are and help you grow into who you’re meant to be. Chi Omega gave me lifelong friendships, confidence, and a sense of belonging that I will carry with me forever, and I hope that through recruitment, you find a place that feels just as special.

With so much love,

Abigail Olson
